A Day At The Beach

Good Morning! Today I have a super fun summertime card that fits into the current challenge which is Distress Maniacs. I used a few different distress inks on my card. Peacock Feathers, Tumbled Glass, and Salty Ocean distress inks were blended together with a sponge applicator to create the ocean water. I then sprayed some water onto the paper to create a subtle texture. The waves were created by tearing the paper unevenly. Tea dye distress ink was applied to the edges of the sandpaper, pattern paper, and cardstock.

These penguins are enjoying a typical fun summer day of fishing and relaxing at the beach. They even had time to create a sand igloo! The penguins and igloo are from the Critters in the Snow stamp set. I used Critters of the Sea for the whale, fish, crab, and shells. The fishing pole is the drum stick from Pa-Rum-Pa-Pum-Pum and the balloon string is from Admit One.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by my blog! Have a wonderful day!

Lawnscaping Challenge #61- Distress Maniacs

Happy Monday! Today is an exciting day because it is a start of a new Lawnscaping Challenge! For this Lawnscaping Challenge you must use either distress products or techniques of your choice! Distressing has been on trend for awhile now. Tim Holtz has a growing product line of different distress type mediums in tons of different colors. What is fun about distress is you can add as little or as much as you like!

For my card, I decided to create a yummy breakfast themed card using some of my favorite Lawn Fawn sets. I stamped all my Lawn Fawn images and colored them with my Copic markers. I added some  spiced marmalade distress stickles to the oranges. I also added some fray burlap distress stickles to the inside of my bowl, to create a cinnamon sugar cereal. The countertop is a kraft-core cardstock that I embossed then sanded the embossed areas to expose the kraft color. To finish off the distressing, I lightly inked the edges of my paper with frayed burlap distress ink.

Lawnscaping Challenge #63- One Layer

Happy Monday! Today I have a super fun card to share with you for the Lawnscaping Challenge Facebook Inspiration Team! The Lawnscaping Challenge #63 is One Layer, which I must admit was a little tricky for me. I love to layer and add dimension to my projects, so this was something a little different to do! I love to create scenes, and creating a one layer card makes building a scene a little more challenging. I did a lot of masking to create the depth I was looking for. I stamped all my animals on my card that I wanted to be layered on top. I then stamped my images that I wanted to have layered on a post it note, then cut them out. Post it notes work really well because the paper is so thin. I placed the cut out image on top of the stamped image on my card, then stamped what I wanted to be behind.
