Lawnscaping Challenge #105- Watercolors

Happy Monday, it's the beginning of the month so that means there is a new Lawnscaping Challenge!
The challenge is to create a project using watercolors. Watercoloring is such a fun technique. I love layering colors on top of each other to create depth. I used a polka dot stencil on my watercolored background. I placed the stencil on top of my background, and sprayed water on it to lift and remove some of the paint. I did mask the hamster and the wheel to ensure that it wouldn't remove any of the colors. I absolutely love the little hamster from the "Wheelie Like You" stamp set, it is just the cutest stamp set ever!

Materials Used:
A Birdie Told Me
Say Cheese
Wheelie Like You

The sponsor this challenge is Ellen Huston. The winner will receive a $25 gift certificate, isn't that awesome!?!

For the background of my card, I used a polka dot stencil and sponged distress ink. I layered torn pattern paper on top of my background. All the edges have warm brown ink to tie in the distress look. Sheer ribbon and natural twine add texture and dimension. I used tiny staples to hold the ribbon in place.

This really was a challenge to do, but my main challenge was to get it to photograph well. My card has a lot of layers and texture to create dimension. I started with a white cardstock base then adhered a sparkly white paper on top. Embossed white paper was added on top of the sparkly paper. I wrapped vellum around the embossed cardstock, and added all my elements to the vellum. The shimmer on the die cut letters is a white Wink of Stella brush pen. The trees from the "Snow Day" stamp set were embossed with clear powder on white cardstock.
