Lawnscaping Challenge- Texture

Welcome to my blog!  Today I am going to share a card I made for the Lawnscaping Challenge. The challenge is to use texture in your project. I just had to make a cute little Christmas card, because it really lends itself to texture. I used the Critters of the Forest, Pa-rum-pa-pum-pum, and Cozy Christmas. I colored all my images with Copic markers, and then cut them out with my X-acto knife. I used some pop dots to create some depth in my scene. For textural elements I used; glossy accents for the lights, fine glitter for many of the images,  dry embossing for the inside of the fireplace, felt for the carpet, and I used different rhinestones and pearls for embellishments. It was kind of tricky to get a picture showing all the texture, this was the best I could get it!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Oozak Challenge #5-Fall Themed

I created this card for the Oozak Fall Themed challenge. I really wanted to use my Lawn Fawn stamps, so I decided to create a little scene that reminds me of a cool fall night. The little critters are gathered around the campfire to keep warm. I used the "Critters in the Forest," "Critters in the Snow," "Critters Down Under," and "Cozy Christmas" stamp sets to create this card. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Lawnscaping Challenge #40- Make Your Own Pattern Paper With Stamps

Welcome to my blog! Today, I have a super fun project I made using some of my favorite Lawn Fawn stamps. I made this card for the Lawnscaping Challenge #40, which requires you to create your own pattern paper with stamps. The overall idea behind my card is "Singing in the Rain," which would be cute for shower, get well, or many other occasions. The little animals are from the "Critters Down Under" stamp set. I used the "Plus One" stamp set for the umbrella and the raindrop patterned paper. The Polaroid frame is from the "Say Cheese" set and I used the bubbles from the "Critters In the Sea" to decorate the frame. The super adorable tiny music notes are from the "Pa-Rum-Pa-Pum-Pum" stamp set. I colored all my pieces and parts with my handy Copic markers. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! Have a wonderful weekend!

Market Street Stamps- June Paint the Town Challenge

Happy Wednesday! I am so excited to share a card I made for the Market Street Stamps June Paint the Town Challenge. I love the colors this month, they retro and adorable! The colors are rich red, hi-fi woodgrain, ripe banana, and avocado green. I was so happy seeing this color combination, because I instantly thought of the February Market Fresh Kit. The papers in this kit are perfect for this challenge, and the hemp twine is a perfect accent too. I used two brand new stamp sets from the Market Street Stamps June release. Tutorial- Adding Dimension Using Strips of Paper

Hey Everyone! Today I am going to share a technique that is quick, easy, and fun. I have created a some embellishments that will give some texture and dimension to your card. I am going to show you a technique to make embellishments using some strips of paper. This technique can also be made with ribbon or strips of fabrics. If you use paper I do recommend that it is easier to manipulate a lighter weight paper or cardstock.

You can use a pen to create perfect mountains. The circumference of the pen will determine how large mountain will be. I personally like to make more of an organic pattern of loops, so I don't use tools I just make the mountain and valleys in a random pattern. So some mountains are larger and higher then others.

The first step to this technique is to glue the end of your strip of paper to your card. I recommend using Score-Tape, it's very tacky but not too tacky that if you lift your paper strip it won't ruin the paper underneath it. I cut the strips of paper in various widths to create a more interesting look. Place your pen under the strip of paper, to mold the mound shape. Place a small piece of tape next to the mountain, and attach it to the paper. Pull the pen out from under the mountain. Repeat this step until you are stratified to with amount of  "mountains and valleys." On my orange strip of paper I did this exact technique, but after all of my mountains were made, I pinched the center of the mountain to create a point. This just gives a fun and different look.

The strips with the smaller mountains were made with a score board. I scored at every 1/8 of an each, scoring both the top and back of the paper.  If you have a paper crimper, you can also create this same look.

The possibilities for this technique are endless. For my card, I stamped and colored the "Robo Star" and attached it to my card. I made my strips look like a starburst coming out from behind the robot. This technique can be altered in various way, just make it your own and have fun with it. This will definitely bring something fun to your project! I hope you enjoyed my tutorial!
